The story of Jonah oftentimes has been linked to the obvious, a large fish who swallowed and spit him after three days. But Jonah is not just a bedtime and children’s story we are familiar with. It is a story of many people who have subtle ways of fleeing from God. As Christians, it is easy to do something for God. But following the will of God and doing something for God are two different things, an East and West difference, like Tarshish and Nineveh.
