Big Idea: Obey God completely and offer Him a wholehearted sacrifice.
Introduction:
Three areas in which we lose our cadence: disability, death and decisions.
A. REMEMBER, GOD HATES SIN
1. God wants to give us favor (v. 1)
2. God wants us to follow His orders (v. 2-3)
B. REMEMBER, GOD DEMANDS COMPLETE OBEDIENCE
1. God wants us to avoid the folly of human wisdom (v. 7-9,12)
2. God has a way of finding out our disobedience (v. 12-14)
3. God wants us to fend off a half-hearted sacrifice (v. 20-22)
C. REMEMBER, GOD CAN WITHDRAW THE BLESSINGS
1. God’s regret (v. 11)
2. God’s redirection (v. 23)
Conclusion:
How to maintain a godly decision:
• Keep your conscience clear.
• Follow the Holy Spirit’s conviction.
• Listen to godly counsel.
• Obey God completely.
