CAN YOU SEE GOD’S PROMISE?Acts 27:1-30Pastor Alan DionsonMay 21, 2023
Big Idea: We cannot avoid the storms coming into our lives, but we can trust God to provide us with comfort, guidance and ultimately, deliverance.
Introduction:
1. Storms in the scriptures
2. Storms in the life of Paul
A. STORMS COME, BUT IT DOES NOT VOID GOD’S AGENDA
1. God’s agenda for our lives (Acts 27:1, 4, 7, 9, 13-14, 18-20; Romans 5:3-5)
2. God’s agenda for other people (Acts 27:1,3, 36-37)
B. STORMS COME, BUT GOD PROVIDES US HIS ASSURANCE
1. God’s assurance is in His promise (Acts 27:20-25)
2. God’s assurance is in His presence (Acts 27:30-36)
3. God’s assurance is in His protection (Acts 28:3-4)
C. STORMS COME, BUT IT DOES NOT CANCEL GOD’S ARRANGEMENTS
1. God has arranged a sanctuary (Acts 28:1-2)
2. God has arranged an opportunity (Acts 28:6-9)
3. God has arranged a delivery (Acts 28:10-11,16)
Conclusion:
We all face storms in our lives. Some start strong and hard but come out weak and mushy. Others start soft and gentle but become hard and brittle, while others use hardship to elevate themselves and accomplish greatness. Same adversity, different results. Which one are you?
