WOUNDS OF THE CROSSIsaiah 53:4-6Pastor Alan DionsonApril 13, 2025
Introduction
A single thread, woven in many ways
A. OUR SICKNESS IS REAL AND DEEP
1. We are broken by pain we cannot fix (v. 4a)
2. We are burdened by a weight we cannot carry (v. 4b)
3. We lost by our choices we cannot undo (v. 6a)
B. OUR SAVIOR IS WILLING AND WOUNDED
1. Jesus did not merely express sympathy—but became our substitute
2. Jesus did not only weep over our pain—but bore it upon Himself
3. Jesus did not prescribe a remedy—He became the cure
C. OUR SOLUTION IS SECURE AND SUFFICIENT
1. We are restored (v. 5b)
2. We are healed (v. 5c)
3. We are forgiven (v. 6b)
Conclusion
The picture of the God’s love and forgiveness for us.
