Worship That Really Matters

What really matters in worship is God Himself.

If God is not the center of worship, worship is just an exercise in futility.

Consider the following statements that relate to the different styles, expressions, order, and culture of worship:

1.    The style of worship is not as important as the substance of worship.

2.    The expression of worship is not as important as the essence of worship.

3.    The order of worship is not as important as the object of worship.

4.    The culture of worship is not as important as the content of worship.

Whether worship is traditional or contemporary, quiet or loud, methodical or free, sophisticated or simple—the only thing that really matters is God alone—our absolute loyalty to Him, our deep appreciation of Him, and the giving of our best to Him.

“Satan is willing to have us worship anything, however sacred—the Bible, the crucifix, the church—if only we do not worship God Himself.” D.L Moody.

“The end we ought to propose to ourselves is to become, in this life, the most perfect worshippers of God we can possibly be, as we hope to be through all eternity.” Brother Lawrence.

Worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters ( Revelation 14:7).
