As the Creator and Ruler of the universe, God is the sovereign LORD of history (Gen. 1:1). Biblically, what makes history are God, spirit beings, people, and events.
Our history as individuals started the day we were born and it will end the day we die. God’s detailed records of what we have done, how we treated God and fellow humans, will be the bases for our judgment on the Judgment Day
(Heb. 9:27; 2 Cor. 5:9-10; Rev. 20:11-15).
WISDOM FOR LIVING:
As free moral beings, we are responsible to God for His gift of our earthly existence. We are responsible to God for our past, present, and future life and behavior.
Satan, the anti-God world system, and our sinful nature are the main enemies against our fight for our temporal and eternal future.
As the sovereign LORD of history, we need to trust God everyday for our earthly life. We need to depend on God to enable us, to fight with us and for us, to emerge victorious in the fight for our temporal and eternal future.
“Fight for your Future”, today’s message will tell us how to fight for our future
victoriously.
Our main text is 2 Timothy 4:6-8, “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
