WISDOM

WISDOM – Charisma Life Church

1. Wisdom is the right and practical application of knowledge.

2. Godly wisdom can be asked and received from God (1 Kings 3:5-14).

3. Wisdom is available to all believers who need to apply it to the issues of their lives (Ephesians 1:15-17).

4. Believers can ask God for wisdom on how to face the trials of their lives (James 1:2-5).

5. Apostle James compared and contrasted Godly and ungodly wisdom for our discernment (James 3:13-18).

6. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God for us believers (1 Cor. 1:24).

7. Worldly wisdom is being proliferated by non-believers in God and His Word through secular education, the secular media, and printed materials. Beware!

8. Charles Spurgeon wrote, “It is an honor to believe what the lips of Jesus taught. I had sooner be a fool with Christ than a wise man with the philosophers.”

9. J.C. Ryle wrote, “The only true wisdom is to be always prepared to meet God, to put nothing off which concerns eternity and to live like men ready to depart at any moment.

10. Solomon said, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).

11. From Jesus’ parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21), we get these bits of wisdom:
a. Don’t mistake your body for your soul.
b. Don’t mistake abundant livelihood for abundant life in Christ.
c. Don’t mistake time for eternity.
d. Don’t mistake self-sufficiency for accountability to God.
e. Don’t make a fool of yourself by dying unprepared to meet the Creator.
