This saying means that one should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress. It cautions against assuming that the current state of an event is irreversible.
Our ultimate goal as Christians is to be with Jesus who said, “I’ll come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:1-3).
Since our salvation is by faith from start to finish (Romans 1:16-17), here are timely challenges:
1. Let us work out our salvation (Philippians 2:12).
2. Let us not drift away from the Word of God, and let us not neglect our salvation (Hebrews 2:1-3).
3. Let us beware of false prophets, let us not allow our love for God to grow cold, and let us stand firm to the end (Matthew 24:9-12).
4. Let us continue in our faith in God (Colossians 1:21-23).
Our journey toward heaven is not over until our earthly life is over (2 Corinthians 5:6-10). Remember: It ain’t over till it’s over.
