1. The cure for insecurity as being sinners who fall short of the glory of God is justification (declared right) by God’s grace through redemption that comes by Christ Jesus. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:23-24).
2. Our security from condemnation is a result of being in Christ Jesus that makes us a new creation in Christ. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
3. Our spiritual and emotional security is a fruit of having peace with God, and having the peace of God. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we [21] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
4. Our security about the present and the future is anchored in our trust in God who makes all things work for good of those who love God. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). “If security can be defined as that sense of confidence, assurance, and contentment with life that comes from knowing God, through Christ, personally, then being really convinced, mentally and emotionally, that God is in control of your life brings contentment with the outcome.” —Josh McDowell
